Our environment today is in a case where we should be worried, worried in the sense that our environment and its natural resources are slowly deteriorating. It is also no stranger to almost every person on this planet of the abrupt and unexplainable climate changes that have been in occurrence in the world-around. These unusual climate changes are already warning signs to us that our environment is not at a very healthy state.
Due to the physical occurrences of nature telling us that its state is no longer something to be happy about, people all over the world are developing ways we can do our daily tasks without having to harm Mother Nature. This new mind-set of doing things is truly a manifestation of panic in people because this boom of being ‘environment-friendly’ has just been recently introduced to us. This goes to show that the health of our ecosystem is far from a joking matter.
In this quest in finding ways to do things in a more environment-friendly ways, the use of wind turbines is rapidly becoming a fad in energy production. Wind turbines are devices used to extract energy from the wind. They are most commonly used for pumping water, grinding stones, and even for cutting lumber.
Wind turbines have been in existence in this world for as early as 200 B.C. The first manifestation of its existence was in Persia. But the first practical wind turbine found was in Sistan in the 7th century. But it was Charles F. Brush that first introduced the use of wind turbines to the United States. In Ohio did Charles F. Brush also made and manufactured the first automatic electricity-generating wind turbine. This wind turbine of his functioned for 20 years.
With the existence of the wind turbines so clearly marked in our history, it is clear to see that it truly works to people’s advantage. But what we should consider in using wind turbines now is how it ceases to make use of man-made things to be able to produce energy needed, especially for electricity. For better illustration, electricity can almost be considered as mankind’s need. With such, electric companies are of vast existence and we should take into knowledge that these companies and its common production of electricity harm our environment greatly. Some of its harmful effects are sulfur dioxide emissions that contribute to acid rain, carbon emissions that contribute to the alarming climate change, and even emit mercury that cause considerable health risks.
All these harmful effects of electricity production are truly alarming, but this is where wind turbines come in; with the use of these wondrous devices, all these harmful effects are eliminated.
Although having to put up your own company of energy production using wind turbines is quite difficult, having the awareness of knowing what is better for the environment will always comes in handy. Also, having this awareness already makes you cautious of our environment’s state and would already introduce in you the want for change.
